Tom and Jerry – Solid Serenade 1946

It always bothered me to see Tom and/or Jerry speak. The artistry of animated and musical storytelling was the root of it’s brilliance. I do however have fond memories of this particular episode, set to Louis Jordan’s “Is you is, or is you ain’t (my baby)”, a tribute to The Jump & Jive Era of the Hep or Hip Cats.

Lousy Jerry! How could he be annoyed at such great bass?!

Well I guess I kinda know how he feels. I'm usually annoyed at the hoopty in the lane next to me whose bass is making the car shake.

    YES!!!!

    that is a BRILLIANT episode!

the scene in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" where John Candy is singing along to "Mess Around" always reminded me of Tom playing the bass.
