“Shoes are the new Geri curl, dude” – Ben
Boy is my boy Ben right. I’ve become a poser sneakerhead this year. I’m not really sure how it happened. I was about as interested in shoes as a 4th grader is in girls. I must have hit my metaphorical Jr. High phase in shoe life.
I mean, I do have my share of functional shoes, but here I go, getting all aesthetic. It started again recently with the Nike Low’s I fell in love with at Undefeated, which I just Yelped. It was like attempting to walk by a pet store window, with puppies calling your name in their native pup language. The precious little kicks stared at me with their unconditional wittle woving shoelace eyes. I mean look at them:

How can you say no to those suede details and red trim? So I took the Nike Low’s home. Regret set in quickly, but not buyers remorse. I had separated the shoes from the rest of his lil Nike litter. How could I break a family apart like that? I had to go back and rescue his brother, Nike Dunks CL:

The family is now complete. Although… I look forward to picking up the cousins, once co-podcaster Mellemusic’s brother is done designing his DC shoes. I shoulda gone for the Geri Curl. They’re so much cheaper.
