The Mexican Food joint.

Yeah I know… which one?

The one that doesn’t suck.

After a year of hitting up La Cabana for late night margaritas, chicken soft tacos, and kitchy guitarists with bad toupees, a friend, Kevin H., mentioned that we’ve been wasting our time.  “Casablana, kitty corner to La Cabaña, is much better”, he says. No point in argueing since neither Alison or I had ever been to movie tribute joint.

As you can tell from the above picture of Alison being freaked out by the wax Humphrey Bogart, we were not pleased with the experience. The overall ambience of the place was just creepy all around. The food was mediocre, the booze was a tad too sour, and the Bogarts too in your face.  I don’t even like the movie, so there.  They could have won me over with a fedora hat though.

So in conclusion… La Cabaña wins this weeks joint of the week, but i’d like to take a poll.  If you live in the Santa Monica / Venice area, or a visitor that has experience either or joint, take the survey below.
